New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind is going to address in Parliament on 29 January. Before this 16 political parties have announced to boycott the address. In this episode, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday, "We are issuing 16 political parties statement that they will boycott the President's address to Parliament". The budget session of Parliament is starting from 29 January.

The parties that boycotted the President's address in support of farmers are Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, AITC, DMK, JKNC, SP, RJD, CPI (M), CPI, IUML, RSP, PDP, MDMK, Kerala Congress and AIUDF. On the first day of the budget session, on 29 January Friday, the President will address both houses of Parliament. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the General Budget 2021 on February 1 at 11 am.

This boycott is seen as the opposition's preparations to surround the government even before the commencement of the budget session. On the one hand, farmers have been protesting against agricultural laws for several days, on the other hand, opposition within Parliament is preparing to surround the government on this issue. Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that 16 opposition parties will boycott the President's address to be held on 29 January. Azad said that we are going to issue a statement on behalf of 16 parties that we will boycott the President's speech to be held tomorrow, the main reason for this is that the agricultural laws should be passed without opposition votes.
