New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and MP from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, has given a provocative statement about the mosque to be built in Ayodhya. Owaisi has said that if anyone offers the namaz in the Ayodhya mosque, it will be considered 'haram'.

Several Muslim religious leaders have expressed their displeasure over this statement of Owaisi, including the secretary of the Mosque Trust and Athar Hussain of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation. Owaisi was addressing the 'Save Constitutions Save India program' in the Bidar area of the southern state of Karnataka, during which he said that the mosque built in Dhanipur in Ayodhya is against the principles of Islam. Therefore, it cannot be called a mosque. Owaisi also said that both giving donations for the construction of the mosque and reading Namaz there is 'haram'.

Owaisi said, "The group of profiteers, who are building mosques on five acres of land in lieu of the Babri Masjid, is not a mosque but 'Masjid-e-Zirar'. It is forbidden to donate. No one should donate there. If you want to donate, then donate to an orphan in Bidar." Owaisi also attacked the central government for love jihad in the program. He said, "In the country of Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Maulana Azad, the law on 'Love Jihad' was passed." An attempt is being made to spoil the constitution by making laws contrary to the law.
