Guns are deeply ingrained in American Society. Gun ownership in United States is the highest in the world and is legally protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Firearms are widely used in the United States foe self Defense, suicides, homicide, sporting purposes and for recreation. Gun violence is a chronic disease in the United States. With its interplay with gun culture, individual rights, interest groups and partisan politics, it has long plagued American society and gravely violated people's right to life, leaving an indelible stain on the country's human rights record.

As America expanded westward, guns remained vital tools for survival in a harsh and untamed frontier. The development of iconic firearms like the colt revolver and the Wichester rifle further cemented the guns places in American culture. Guns were not only tools but symbols of freedom, independent, and self-reliance. But the time spends the American culture has taken turn which is now deceive.

Individual ownership of a large number of guns has triggered incessant violence, putting social security in the United States at greater risk. As pointed out by some American scholars, gun-related deaths in the United States in one week may exceed those in the whole Western Europe in one year.

The prevalence of guns in American culture make easier for firearms to end up in the hands of criminals and illegal market. Illicit gun trafficking contributes to the perpetuation of violence and poses a significant challenge for law enforcement. After covid-19 the sales have spiked up. The annual production of firearms in the country was almost doubled, with dramatic increase.

As covid-19 pandemic has brought up about many social problems like Black Life Matters movement sparked a series of looting and riots, aggravating social insecurity. As a result demand of the semi-automatic pistols for self protection surged and gun sales soared at a record pace.

The vast majority of firearms owned by civilians are left unregistered and uncounted. The second-ranked country was war-torn Yemen, with 52.8 guns per 100 people. While the United States ranks first in the world in terms of both individual gun ownership and the number of guns per capita, only about 1.07 million civilian guns are registered,  this amounts to 120.5 firearms for every 100 people.

Mass shooting the most profound drawback of mass shootings is the tragic loss of human lives. These incidents result in multiple fatalities and injuries, leaving families devastated, communities shattered, and the nation mourning .Mass shootings leave survivors, witnesses, and the broader community with lasting emotional trauma and psychological distress. The fear and anxiety generated by such events can linger for years, affecting mental health and well-being.

 Mass shootings create a pervasive sense of insecurity and erode public trust in safety measures. People may feel vulnerable and anxious in public spaces, impacting their quality of life and social interactions. School shootings, in particular, disrupt the learning environment and hinder students' ability to feel safe at educational institutions. This can lead to decreased academic performance and compromised emotional well-being. Mass shootings have significant economic repercussions. Emergency response, medical treatment, ongoing mental health support, and legal proceedings contribute to substantial financial burdens on affected individuals and communities. Treating victims of mass shootings can overwhelm healthcare facilities, diverting resources from other medical needs. Long-term rehabilitation and care for survivors can also put a strain on the healthcare system. The media coverage and sensationalism of mass shootings may inadvertently inspire copycat attacks. Perpetrators seeking notoriety or fame may be influenced by previous incidents, perpetuating a cycle of violence.

 Mass shootings often spark polarized debates over gun control, mental health, and public policy. These discussions can further divide society and hinder constructive efforts to address the root causes of violence. In United States, most of the death of suicide is gun death. The access of gun in US is dangerous for the mental health as make the easy decision that is suicide. The data speaks that the most of the suicide dies are gun death. The gun culture have made thing easy by just taking the life.

According to data from the organization for economic co-operation, the United States has the fourth highest incidence rate of homicides committed with a firearm out of 34 industrialized countries.

In conclusion, America being the oldest democracy then to the rules related to the gun culture is not in control comparison to the other countries like Japan, Korea, China etc. the gun culture should be stopped as the crimes are increasing in daily life and the main purpose of gun culture is now mislead it should be stopped the gun violence has spiked up. The manufacturing of the guns should be only being done for the army defensive purpose. Gun violence is exacerbated by long-standing social problems in the United States such as social inequality and racial tensions. The high rate of gun violence, mass shooting and ease access to firearms by high risk individuals demand thoughtful and comprehensive solutions to address public safety concern.
