2 Arrested for Sextortion Call to Union Minister Prahlad Patel

NEW DELHI: In a recent incident,  2 people were detained for making a sextortion call to Prahlad Singh Patel,  who serves as the Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti.

As soon as Minister Patel became aware of the situation, he promptly reported it to the Delhi Police Commissioner. The crime branch acted swiftly, leading to the successful arrest of Mohammad Vakil and Mohammad Sahib in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. However, the primary suspect, Sabir, is still at large.

Unraveling the case, the Crime Branch investigation uncovered connections between the arrested individuals and an organized gang specializing in sextortion calls and blackmail activities.

The report of the incident was made to the police by Patel’s personal secretary, Alok Mohan. According to the complaint, the accused targeted Minister Prahlad Patel by initiating a video call to his mobile number through WhatsApp.

During the call, they shamelessly played a pornographic video, intending to extort him. Fortunately, Minister Patel acted swiftly, ending the call and promptly informing the police about the incident. The authorities' quick response ensured that justice was set in motion.
