Barrackpore area witnessed poll related clashes early on Monday. Bombs were hurled at booth number 177. Bombs had been hurled at sales space quantity 177. Other booths have been vandalized. Two gunshots had been fired and bombs had been hurled by unidentified males on the spot. BJP has mentioned TMC has orchestrated this.

Arjun Singh, BJP’s candidate from Barrackpore in West Bengal, casted his vote in polling sales space quantity 12.  Singh is up against TMC's Dinesh Trivedi, who he served as election manager for.  Trivedi’s erstwhile election-manager Arjun Singh crossed over to the BJP in March after he was denied the ticket from Barrackpore by the Trinamool management.

Amid heightened safety, with Central forces guarding all polling stations, voting started for seven parliamentary constituencies of West Bengal in section 5 of common elections 2019 on Monday. The polling began at 7 am and can proceed until 6 pm. The state has seen widespread violence in all of the 4 phases of the election till now.
