Babur, Delhi's Emperor, had just one child, Humayun. After Babur's passing, Humayun ascended to the throne. He was feeble and slothful. So Sher Shah, one of his officers, came up in opposition to him. Humayun was defeated in a significant battle, and Sher Shah was made the new ruler of Delhi. To save his life, Humayun had to flee. He had to pass via Khadur, the home of Guru Angad Sahib Ji, on his journey to Lahore. He traveled to Khadur to see the Guru and ask for his favor because he wanted to become Emperor once more.

When Humayun arrived at the Guru's residence, Guru Angad Sahib Ji was engaged in both teaching and prayer. As a result, he was unaware of the Emperor. The Emperor became irate. He detested waiting. "How dare the Guru not show any respect to the King!" he remarked. He became extremely enraged by this sensation and made the decision to kill the Guru as a result. Humayun tried to draw his sword from his sheath by gripping the hilt, but he was unable.

The Guru had completed his prayers and was prepared to hear what the Emperor had to say. He grinned and added, "You are brave enough to try and draw your sword to frighten or kill peace-loving people," as he saw what Humayun was going to do. How come you didn't use it on Sher Shah? You made the cowardly move to flee. Although your weapon was useless in battle, all of a sudden you seem to have developed courage as a fighter. Humayun was embarrassed. He asked the Guru for forgiveness. He said sorry and said he know that Guru Nanak was gracious enough to bless my father, who became the Emperor of Delhi. Sher Shah has seized the throne from me. I can only become the Emperor once more with your blessing. I beg you to have mercy and to bless me.

The Guru remained silent for a while before gazing intently into the vanquished Emperor's eyes. Today, gain some knowledge. You would have swiftly reclaimed your empire if you had only been patient and sat with us while taking pleasure in our company. You will reclaim your throne, but keep in mind that being an emperor requires being decent, upright, and beneficial to the populace.
