A guru changes the whole life. Today is the death anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Nanak Dev ji was born at a critical time when there was no central organized power in India. It is said that at that time, foreign invaders were trying to loot the country by honouring the countrymen. Superstitions and rituals were prevalent in the name of religion and foreign culture was attacking the culture of this country.

Let us tell all of you that guru Nanak Devji was born on 1469, the full moon day of Kartik Month, in Talwandi, to a farmer named Kalyanchand (Mehta Kalu). His mother's name was Tripta. At the age of 13, he was cremated. It is said that at the age of 16, he was married to Sulakhani. In 1494, he also had two sons, Srichand and Laxmichand. In 1499, he started conveying his message and started travelling. He was 30 years old at the time. In 1507, he left his family and left for the trip. By 1521, he visited major places in India, Afghanistan, Persia and Arabia. He is said to have travelled in all directions and many interesting incidents took place with Nanak Dev during his tour almost all over the world.

It is said that it was From Nanak Devji that Hindustan got the name Hindustan for the first time. In fact, in about 1526, when Guru Nanak Devji had said a few words after Babur attacked the country, the word Hindustan was first pronounced in those words: "Khurasan Khasmana Kia Hindustan Daraia. On September 22, 1539, Guru Nanak Devji died.
