Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, who was martyred for religion, humanity, and principles, has special importance in Sikhism; he is also known as "Hind-di-Chadar". Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, who was martyred for Kashmiri Pandits, was born on April 1, 1621, in Amritsar Nagar to father Sixth Guru Shri Hargovind Sahib and mother Nanaki. Since childhood, Guru Tegh Bahadur has spent much of his time absorbed in meditation. He was born in Amritsar and was the youngest son of Guru Hargobind Sahib. Before the death of Guru Har Kishan Sahib, he had told the identity of the next Guru that he would be Baba Bakal, and Guru Tegh Bahadur lived in Bakal only.

Guru Teg Bahadur ji also went to Prayag, Banaras, Patna, Assam, etc. areas, where he did creative work for spiritual, social, and economic upliftment, distributed knowledge of spirituality and religion, criticised stereotypes and superstitions, and established new ideals. At that time, the terror of Aurangzeb's forced conversion to Islam was in full swing in India. Then Guruji made up his mind to talk to Aurangzeb to save the Hindus suffering under Aurangzeb. Guruji told Aurangzeb that if you force people to convert to Islam, then you are not a true Muslim because Islam does not teach that someone should be converted to Islam by oppressing them.

Aurangzeb got furious after hearing this. He ordered Guru Tegh Bahadur's head to be cut off at Chandni Chowk in Delhi, and then on November 11, 1675, Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life while laughing. In honour of Guru Teg Bahadur, a Gurudwara has been built at the site of his martyrdom and is named Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib. Many creations of Guru Teg Bahadur ji are stored in Mahal 9 of Guru Granth Sahib. The Red Fort, Firoz Shah Kotla, and Jama Masjid are also other attractions near the Gurudwara. After the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur ji, his son Guru Gobind Rai was placed on the Guru Gaddi, who became Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. History is full of examples of those who made sacrifices for their faith, but Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Sahib is the only example of someone who made sacrifices to protect someone else's faith. I bow down at the feet of such a Guru.
