Gurugram: Natwar Lal, who had sent fake summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to former deputy mayor and BJP's state spokesperson in Gurugram adjoining the country's capital and demanded crores of rupees, has been arrested by the police along with Rs 2 lakh. A case has been registered against the accused by the New Colony police station under various sections and an investigation has been started. According to information received from the police, former deputy mayor and BJP state spokesperson Yashpal Batra were asked to reach the office on May 16 by sending fake summons in the name of ED deputy director A K Singh a few days ago.
After this, the fraudsters called and demanded crores of rupees. On coming to know about the forgery, Yashpal Batra lodged a complaint with the New Colony police station. On which the police caught the accused red-handed while taking two lakh rupees. A preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the accused used to make illegal recoveries by threatening people who built new houses to demolish their houses.
The accused has taken an amount of ten lakh rupees from the former mayor even before. Police spokesman Subhash Bokan said that a case has been registered at the New Colony police station and an investigation has been initiated. Further action will be taken on the basis of facts revealed in the investigation.
