Ahmedabad: A Hindu youth has received a painful punishment for falling in love with a Muslim girl in Rajkot, Gujarat. Here 22-year-old Mithun Thakur's girlfriend Sumaiya's brother and family were strongly against this relationship, due to which they brutally beat the young man to death. At the same time, when Sumaiya got the news of her lover's death, she also tried to commit suicide by cutting a vein in her hand. However, he was admitted to the hospital in time, where his life has been saved.
According to media reports, Mithun Thakur was a resident of Bihar. He used to work in a local factory. Mithun was in a relationship with 18-year-old Muslim girl Sumaiya Kadivar for the past few months. They lived in the same locality in Radha Krishna Society located on Jangleeshwar Main Road. During this, the two grew closer and both fell in love. He had also decided to get married. It is being told that on Monday (9 May 2022), Mithun Thakur called Sumaiya on his mobile phone at around 10 am, but his brother Sakir picked up the phone. He threatened Mithun with dire consequences over the phone and asked him to stay away from his sister Sumaiya.
After the threat, Sakir reached Mithun's house with three more people and beat him up badly. When one of the neighbors saw Mithun lying unconscious in the house, they took him to Rajkot Civil Hospital. Where in view of his critical condition and due to brain hemorrhage, he was referred to Ahmedabad. But Mithun died on Wednesday (11 May 2022) at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. When Sumaiya got the news of Thakur's death, she also attempted suicide by slitting her wrist, after which she too was admitted to the hospital, where her life was saved. At the same time, the police have arrested accused Sakir and one of his associates in this case and are taking further action.
