Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), asserted on Monday that the Muslim side would not concede any mosque to Hindus in the ongoing legal battle over the disputed Gyanvapi complex. Owaisi emphasized that they would fight the case in courts and would not yield any mosque, recalling the events of December 6, referring to the day when the Babri Masjid was violently demolished. He stated that they had been deceived once and would not allow it to happen again. The Varanasi court recently ruled that a Hindu priest could perform prayers in the southern cellar of the Gyanvapi mosque.

When questioned about the possibility of a settlement in the Gyanvapi case, Owaisi categorically stated that it would not end, emphasizing their commitment to fight it legally and present relevant documents and title suits in court. He highlighted the continuous offering of namaz at the Gyanvapi site, drawing a contrast with the Babri Masjid case where the absence of Muslim prayers was a key argument.

Owaisi dismissed reports of Hindu structures found beneath the Gyanvapi mosque, stating that continuous namaz has been offered at the site for hundreds of years. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing that the Muslim community has lost confidence in him, claiming that the Prime Minister is discharging his constitutional duties for a specific ideology.
