Lucknow: Dr Sohan Lal Arya, an advocate of Laxmi Devi, one of the women who challenged the controversial Gyanvapi complex case adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, has received death threats. In the phone received from a Pakistan number, the caller has threatened to 'separate the head from the body' like Kanhaiyalal of Rajasthan.

Sohanlal has complained to the police officials. DCP Kashi has said that a case will be registered, Sohanlal already has security. Earlier, Sohanlal received death threats on March 19 this year and again on July 20. Sohanlal says that he is not going to be afraid of it. Even if life is lost for Hindutva and temple protection, it does not matter. Two policemen have been deployed for his security.

Dr Arya said he has also spoken to intelligence bureau (IB) officials regarding the threat. It is suspected that someone from India is calling using a Pakistan number. The numbers have been handed over to intelligence officials. I have got time to meet Varanasi Commissioner and District Magistrate. Will file an FIR at the Laksa police station. Threats have been received on both his mobile numbers.
