HAL donates CT scan machine to Bengaluru government hospital

Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited donated a 32 Slice Computed Tomography scan machine costing to Bengaluru government hospital. Defense production has donated the machines costing around Rs 1.76 crore to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College & Research Institute (SABVMC&RI). It is said to be a part of its sustained corporate social responsibility activities. 

HAL signed a ‘Memorandum of Agreement' with the defense company and the hospital which is under the Karnataka state government. According to R Madhavan, Chairman and Managing Director of HAL, “Such a medical aid is the need of the hour and will be useful in diagnosing the patients including those suffering from COVID-19.”

This donation made by HAL is a great help at a time when the state is witnessing the surging number of corona cases. According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1,03,558 new corona cases were reported on Monday in India.
