New Delhi: Once again it has been proved that if social media is used properly, then it can be of great use to humans. An example of this has come to the fore, this case is of a woman from Mumbai. This woman was looking for her mother for the last 20 years. But, now she has come to know through social media. Her mother has been seen in Pakistan. Yasmin Shaikh, a resident of Mumbai, says that her mother had gone to Qatar to work as a cook, but did not return.

While talking to the media, Yasmin Sheikh has told 'I have come to know about my mother after 20 years through a social media account based in Pakistan. A video was posted on social media in which she was seen.' Yasmin further said, 'She often used to go to Qatar for 2-4 years, but this time she went with the help of an agent and never returned.' Yasmin said, 'We tried to find her, but all the efforts failed. We could not even register a complaint because we did not have any proof.'

Yasmin Shaikh says that her mother, Hamida Bano went abroad to work as a cook and never contacted her family again. She said, 'When we used to visit the agent to find out about my mother's whereabouts, she used to say that my mother does not want to meet or talk to us. She assured us that she was fine. However, the mother is clearly saying in her video that the agent told her not to tell the truth to anyone.''

Yasmin said, 'The video came and then reached us. Only then did we get to know about her stay in Pakistan, otherwise we didn't know whether she was in Dubai, Saudi or where.' Describing the video, Hamida Bano's sister Shahida says that when she got her husband, siblings and household names right, she recognized her. Shahida also said that she did everything possible to find her sister and contacted the agent, who reportedly ran away a few days later. This shattered all her hopes of meeting her sister. Yasmin Sheikh is requesting the government's assistance in bringing her back at the earliest.
