The Asian Para Games, to be held in Hangzhou, China from October 9 to 15, have been postponed due to concerns related to the corona virus. Which was officially announced by the organizers on Tuesday. The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) has said in a statement that, 'The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (HAPGOC) and the Asian Paralympic Committee have today announced the postponement of the 2022 Asian Para Games, which will be held from 9 to 9 as per the predetermined schedule. It was to be held by October 15, 2022.

These games have also been postponed. Less than two weeks ago, the Hangzhou Asian Games, which were scheduled to be held from September 10 to 25, have also been postponed. Due to the increasing cases of corona virus in China, they have been postponed indefinitely on 6 May. The statement said that, 'A task force consisting of representatives of APC, China Paralympic Committee and HAPGOC is now going to work on the schedule of these games in 2023. Further announcement in this regard can be made in the near future.

The logo, slogans and year of the games are going to change. More than four thousand players are expected to participate in 616 medal events across 22 sports during the tournament. APC President Majid Rasheed said, 'The preparations for the Games were going very well and HAPGOC was ready to organize the Games wonderfully.' Where he has said about this that, 'It was not easy to decide but this decision had to be taken to remove uncertainty from the minds of international federations, national Paralympic committees and players planning to participate in the Games. Now we will work with the organizing committee on new dates which are going to be compatible with the para sports calendar.
