Alka Kubal was born on September 23, 1965, in Mumbai, and is an actress of Bollywood and Marathi film. She has also worked in many Marathi films and some Bollywood films. Her film, Mahrachi Saree, got a lot of recognition in Maharashtra. She has worked with famous actors like Dada Kondke, Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde and Sachin. She has also appeared in Hindi films Chakra with Naseeruddin Shah and a devotional film Shirdi Sai Baba. She has received several awards including V Shantaram Award, State Culture Award 2013 and many others in 2016.
She has married cinematographer Samir Athawale, he made some Marathi films such as Aami's Tsurrey (2012), Agniparikshan (2010) and Suvasini Hi Sattree (2010).
