Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman's A.k.a VVS Laxman turn 43 on Wednesday. He was the legendary batsmen and his legendary innings come against Australians, during the 16-year career always speaking Laxman scored 11,125 international runs, out of which 3,173 runs against Australia, innings of precedence 281 runs against the same kangaroos made him famous. Laxman, who had a Test average of just 28 before that innings, had stopped the winning streak of Australia's 16 Test matches due to the unbeaten double century. During the follow-on shift with Rahul Dravid (180 runs) Lakshman, 376 runs partnership was a memorable one.
Not only that, in the Adelaide Test against Australia in 2003, India won the game by playing a prized control innings of 148 runs. Once again, India was able to beat the Kangaroos in his house with a partnership with Dravid. During that time Laxman added 303 runs with Dravid (233 runs). Laxman scored an unbeaten double century in the Delhi Test in 2008. Along with this, he became the second Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar, who scored more than 2000 runs against Australia.
Laxman scored 8381 runs in 134 Tests and scored 2338 runs in 86 ODIs. In his career, he scored 17 Tests and 6 ODIs. Laxman would have to say that he could never play World Cup. Laxman was out on zero in the first ODI of his career and in the last ODI also. Now, these legendary Indian batsmen are officially shown on commentary team but in the end, we wish this classical batsman a very Happy Birthday.
