Harbhajan Singh, who ruled a field in the Indian cricket team as a male, has not played any international match for the last four years from Team India. Bhajji still hopes to return to Team India. Bhajji has been a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup winning team India. Bhajji believes that he can make a comeback for Team India in T20 International. Bhajji believes that he is fit and ready to play T20 World Cup. On ESPN Cricinfo, Bhajji said, "I am ready, I can bowl well in the IPL, which is a very difficult tournament for bowlers because the grounds are small and the top players of the world play in this tournament." In the 2016 Asia Cup, Bhajji played for the last time in the T20 International format for Team India. However, Bhajji's performance in the IPL has been good since then. He has been playing for Chennai Super Kings for the last two years after playing years for Mumbai Indians in IPL. Bhajji is one of the most successful bowlers of the IPL. He has 150 IPL wickets in his account, while he has spent runs at an economy rate of just 7.05. Bhajji said, 'The selectors don't look at me because they think I have become very old. Apart from this, I also do not play any domestic cricket. He has not looked at me for the last four-five years whereas my performance in IPL has been good. I have taken wickets and my records are in my favor.

He further said, 'It is difficult to bowl against the batsmen in the IPL and if you bowl well in the IPL, then you can also perform well in T20 International cricket. I have bowled well in the IPL and have taken wickets as well. Bhajji believes that the IPL is the toughest tournament in T20 cricket. He said, 'In international cricket, not all teams have all the quality players as in the IPL, where all the teams have excellent top-6 players, which is a good thing. Yes, Australia, India and England have a good batting line-up. But if I can get Johnny Bairstow and David Warner out in the IPL, don't you think I can get them out in international cricket too? But all this is not in my hands. Nobody comes to you and talks in the current set-up.

Bhajji had a great performance in IPL 2019: In IPL 2019, he took 16 wickets in 11 matches and scored runs at an economy rate of 7.09. Talking about the active Indian cricketers in Test cricket, their names are recorded in most wickets. Bhajji has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests. In 2001, he took a hat-trick in a Test match against Australia and from India, he was the first hat-trick of any bowler in Test cricket.
