The all-rounder hit a humongous six off Sunil Narine in the 14th over to bring up his half-century and left behind Rishabh Pant, who had scored a fifty in 18 balls against MI at the Wankhede Stadium. Hardik finished his innings nine sixes and six boundaries but failed to take MI over the finish line as they lost the match by 34 runs.
