The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated vs Mumbai Indians (MI) match by 34 runs at the Eden. The match saw two blistering knocks from Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya. Both the players were in murderous form for their teams as they smashed the bowlers all over the park. While Russell struck 80 off 40 balls, Pandya went on to better him as he hit a sensational 91 runs off 34 balls. With this brilliant inning Hardik Pandya became the batsman to smash the fastest fifty in IPL 2019.

After losing both the openers cheaply, Hardik continued his brilliant form in the IPL as he hit the fastest half-century of IPL 2019. MI were tottering at 58/4 when the Pandya came to the crease and he needed only 17 balls to smash his first fifty of the season.

The all-rounder hit a humongous six off Sunil Narine in the 14th over to bring up his half-century and left behind Rishabh Pant, who had scored a fifty in 18 balls against MI at the Wankhede Stadium. Hardik finished his innings nine sixes and six boundaries but failed to take MI over the finish line as they lost the match by 34 runs.
