Ahmedabad: Hardik Patel, a strong leader of the Patidar community, will join the BJP on June 2. He had resigned from Congress only recently. He was the working president of the Gujarat Congress but was angry with Heikman due to neglect. He will take membership of the party after reaching the BJP headquarters in Gandhi Nagar. In a conversation with the media, Hardik Patel said that he will join the BJP on June 2. During this, State President CR Patil will be present and will get him the membership of the BJP. The party wants to convert Hardik Patel's coming to BJP into a grand event.
It is being told that along with Hardik Patel, 15,000 other people will also join the BJP. Hardik joining BJP is considered very important for Patidar politics. Hardik Patel emerged as a big face of the Patidar reservation movement in Gujarat in 2015. After his entry into the Congress, the party believed that it would get the support of the Patidar community, but despite its relatively better performance in the 2017 assembly elections, it stayed away from power.
Now after Hardik's move to BJP, this is a big setback for the Congress ahead of the elections. In fact, Congress has already been facing a continuous exodus of leaders. However, no official announcement has been made by the BJP regarding Hardik Patel. Hardik was given relief by the court regarding a case during the Patidar agitation. In such a situation, the way for Hardik to contest the election has also been cleared. In such a situation, it is now confirmed that Hardik Patel will contest the assembly elections on the BJP's election symbol.
