Dehradun: Ranipur police have busted a gang selling fake medicines and oil of strength using Baba Ramdev's photograph. A police team led by Kotwal Kundan Singh Rana has arrested two criminals from Agra and brought them to Haridwar. The investigation revealed that Baba Ramdev's photograph was advertised online for medicines and oil suo-how by running on and portals. Baba Ramdev's picture was used on medicines to win trust.

A case was filed by Patanjali Yogpeeth representative Raju Verma at Bahadrabad police station a few days ago. It said that a fake advertisement with Baba Ramdev's picture is being run on the portal. The case was handed over to Ranipur Kotwal Kundan Singh Rana as this was a case under the IT Act.

After the same search, Kotwal Rana reached Agra with a team and raided the Sikandra area and busted the gang. Two criminals Akash Sharma and Satish resident Sikandra Agra were arrested from the spot. Uttarakhand police raid created ruckus in Agra. After which Agra police and the drugs department also came into action. The drugs department has sealed fake medicines and oil worth about 2.5 crore rupees. Kotwal Kundan Singh Rana said the gang leader is Dilip Yadav and is being searched.
