Dehradun: After a meeting with Rahul Gandhi, former CM Harish Rawat said, "I will lead the election, but who will be the CM will be decided only after the elections." Then, now, after Harish Rawat's tweet, the turmoil in the Uttarakhand Congress seems to be resolved. The party's top leadership in Delhi on Friday held discussions with senior Uttarakhand Congress leaders including Harish Rawat. After which Harish Rawat told the media that he will lead the upcoming assembly elections.
Along with Harish Rawat, all senior party leaders including party state president Ganesh Godial, former minister Yashpal Arya, leader of opposition Pritam Singh, MP Pradeep Tamta, former president Kishore Upadhyay were summoned to Delhi. Meanwhile, the State Congress Committee had cancelled all party level meetings and programmes at the behest of state president Ganesh Godial.
Harish Rawat had tweeted, "It is not strange, the election-like sea has to swim, the organization's structure for cooperation is either turning away or playing a negative character instead of extending the helping hand in most places. The sea in which you have to swim has left many crocodiles in power. The representatives of those who have to swim at their behest are tying my hands and feet. There are many thoughts in my mind that Harish Rawat is enough now, he has swam a lot, now is the time for rest!' This was followed by the political turmoil in Uttarakhand.
