Kerala: The curb on Nipah virus, no new case reported

New Delhi:union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday said that no new case of Nipah virus has been reported in Kerala. The patients who have been found infected with Nipah virus are also improving their health, he added.

In a statement, the health ministry said, "As eight patients today are under doctor's supervision, seven of whom have been found to have infections of Nipah." The eighth patient sample is being examined at the POC (Point of Care) lab. "The ministry said four other patients who were kept under the supervision of doctors were discharged on Saturday. In the meantime, the National Institute of Virology (NIV) of Pune has collected three swine blood samples and 30 bat samples from Thodupuja in Iduki district of Kerala.

Heat wave continues wreak havoc in capital

According to information, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan is personally reviewing and monitoring the status of Nipah virus cases. At the same time, he has instructed senior officers of the ministry to look into the situation with the Government of Kerala.
