Chandigarh: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has said that he would leave politics if he could not ensure minimum support price (MSP) guarantee for the farmers. Explain that BJP leader and Haryana CM Khattar is facing opposition from farmers demanding withdrawal of three agricultural laws. CM Khattar made this statement at a time when the ruling party has lost 3 out of 5 municipal elections in Haryana.
According to the media report, CM Khattar said that we are in favor of continuing the MSP and if someone tries to end this system, he will leave politics. Haryana Deputy CM and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala made a similar statement this month. Chautala had said that, as long as I am in power, I will ensure MSP on the crops for the farmers. I will step down on the day I fail to do so.
In two of the three mayor's elections, the ruling coalition has lost in Ukala in Hisar and Dharuhera in Rewari. Both of them are considered to be the stronghold of Chautala's party JJP. The ruling party has also lost the election of mayor in Sonepat and Ambala.
