Haryana government announces, 'Schools will remain closed on 30 and 31 December'

Chandigarh: Due to severe cold, the Haryana government has announced a holiday in all government and private schools from December 30 and 31. Schools in Haryana are closed from January 1 to January 15 due to winter break. Schools will now be started on January 16. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said, "The government has decided to close the schools from Monday, as cold waves has strengthened its grip in Haryana and Punjab, where the temperature on Saturday was 0.2 degrees Celsius in Hisar and in Bathinda 0.5 degree has been recorded.

Significantly, in view of the increasing cold in Ghaziabad, not just Haryana, District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey had announced the closure of all government and non-government schools up to 12th till 2 days (27–28 December). In Aligarh, UP, the district administration had announced the closure of all schools in view of the severe cold. In view of the cold wave in Aligarh, on the instructions of DM, the holiday was announced in schools from classes 1 to 8 till December 28. According to which, now schools will start in Aligarh on Monday.
