Chandigarh: Special damage will be done to mustard, wheat and cash crops due to heavy rains and hailstorms in Haryana. At the same time, Agriculture Minister Jayaprakash Dalal has issued instructions to the Agriculture Department. It is also being said that the insurance companies will assess the loss of crops of the farmers who have done crop insurance and compensation is also being given. The government will give compensation for crop loss to farmers who have not been insured. Congress State President Kumari Selja has demanded compensation of crop loss to farmers within 20 days.

According to the information received, Agriculture Minister JP Dalal has appealed to the farmers that they can apply for compensation to the crops in the agriculture department within three days by giving correct information about the loss by keeping pace with the district administration. Along with this, copies of Aadhaar card, related land, documents of insurance and bank passbook will have to be submitted along with the prescribed proforma. Only after this, compensation for the damage caused by hail will be received soon.

It has been learned that apart from hailstorms which lasted for about 25 minutes on Saturday, 29th February 2020, due to heavy rains, crops have suffered heavy losses in Mahendragarh, Rewari, Charkhi-Dadri, Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Nuh districts. Mustard crop was ready in these areas, which was to be harvested after a week. Vegetables and wheat have also suffered a lot. Wheat has been spread at many places. Hail has caused havoc in Khol and Jatusana blocks of Rewari district, Mahendragarh, Ateli and Kanina blocks of Mahendragarh district. In southern Haryana, farmers are expected to profit from mustard, which has completely receded.
