Chandigarh: The information sought under the Right to Information (RTI) has revealed that the Haryana government does not have documents related to the citizenship of CM Manohar Lal Khattar, many cabinet ministers of the state government and Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya. On January 20, PP activist P.P. Kapoor had filed an RTI to get information about this. The reply he received in this RTI was very surprising.

P.P. In Kapoor's RTI, Haryana's Public Information Officer Poonam Rathi said that there is no information about this in his record. He said that 'the citizenship papers of the honorable people can be with the Election Commission.' During the assembly elections in September last year, CM Manohar Lal Khattar had promised that he will implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state to expel illegal migrants from Haryana.

CM Khattar, former Air Force Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and retired High Court Judge H.S. This was said after meeting Bhalla. He had said, "We will implement NRC in Haryana like Assam also." The retired justice had instructed the Chief Minister to prepare an ID card for the residents of the state to keep out anti-social elements. After which the CM had said, 'I said that we will implement NRC in Haryana in view of Bhalla ji's support and suggestion.'
