Chandigarh: The Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has announced the suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS, and dongle services in several districts until February 13, in anticipation of the farmers' proposed 'Delhi Chalo' march scheduled for February 13.

More than 200 farmers' unions, including the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, have announced the 'Delhi Chalo' march to exert pressure on the central government to address various demands, including the enactment of a law to guarantee a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

The suspension of services applies to districts including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa. According to a notification from the Haryana administration, bulk SMS and dongle services provided on mobile networks, except voice calls, will remain suspended.

This order will be effective from 6 am on February 11 until 11:59 pm on February 13. Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements are being made at the borders between Punjab and Haryana in Ambala, Jind, and Fatehabad districts in anticipation of the farmers' march to Delhi.

Haryana police and local administration are erecting barricades in Ambala in preparation for the farmers' march. Security has also been intensified at the Shambhu border near Ambala, with Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, Inspector General of Police (Ambala Range) Siwas Kaviraj, and Ambala Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh visiting the border area.

Commuters traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi are advised to use alternative routes via Derabassi, Barwala/Ramgarh, Saha, Shahbad, Kurukshetra, or through Panchkula, NH-344 Yamunanagar Indri/Pipli, Karnal.

Haryana Police has deployed 50 companies of central paramilitary forces to maintain law and order in the state. Protesters have been warned not to participate in the planned march without permission and have been cautioned of strict action if they cause damage to public property.

The general public is urged to travel to Punjab only in urgent circumstances. Similar security measures are being implemented in Jind and Fatehabad districts, where farmers plan to head to Delhi from the Ambala-Shambhu border, Khanauri-Jind, and the Dabwali border.
