Chandigarh: Haryana's Manohar Lal Khattar government has extended the last date for registration in 'Mera Pani Meri Heritage Scheme' till July 15, 2021, under which a campaign for crop diversification is being launched. 7000 per acre will be given to farmers for sowing of crops grown in less water instead of paddy.

In case of this incentive, every farmer has to register on my Crop Mera Details portal. State that earlier the last date of registration was 25th June, 2021. During a meeting of agriculture department officials, state agriculture and farmers welfare minister JP Dalal announced extension of the date. He asked the officials to motivate farmers to sow other crops instead of paddy cultivation. Farmers who grow fodder instead of paddy or keep their fields empty will also get the benefit of this scheme.

The scheme will be implemented across the State. Under the scheme, farmers will have to sow alternative crops like cotton, maize, pulses, groundnut, sesame, guar, castor, vegetables and fruits instead of paddy. If farmers replace paddy cultivation (Paddy farming) with Agro Forestry and plant 400 trees per acre, they will get Rs.10,000 instead of Rs.7000.
