Kaniha is a household name for the cinephiles in South India. The actress who has proved her prowess in acting in various other South languages has also been part of some incredible Malayalam movies. From playing the housewife Daisy in ‘Bhagyadevatha’ to playing historic characters in films like ‘Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja’ and ‘Mamangam’, the beauty has become almost an inseparable part of Malayalam cinema. The actress loves working in Malayalam cinemas and in an exclusive conversation , she shared, “I must give it to the Malayalam industry.”
Speaking about the love she has received from the industry and Keralite audience, she added, “I have huge respect for Malayalam cinema and its audience. As far as I am concerned, there has never been any kind of discrimination towards me that I am married or is a mother. Even when there are N number of choices here, I am still being called for the roles I do. I really value and respect that.”
Meanwhile, Kaniha was filming for ‘Paappan’, a while ago. The film is helmed by Joshiy and Kaniha is reuniting with the filmmaker after a decade. The actress shared that she is ‘thrilled’ to be a part of ‘Paappan’. The film features Suresh Gopi in the lead role and the team will be resuming the shoot shortly.
On the work front, Kaniha has also signed for ‘Bro Daddy’. The upcoming Malayalam film is helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and it features Mohanlal in the lead. Apart from Kaniha, the film will also feature Meena, Lalu Alex, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Murali Gopi and Soubin Shahir in some important roles. Touted to be a family drama, ‘Bro Daddy’ will go on floors soon.
