Raipur: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and Hindu organisations gheraoed the Jamul police station here over the arrest of the accused of raping a cow in Bhilai in Chhattisgarh's Durg. According to the report, the accused has been identified as Hasan Khan and is said to be on the run. The incident took place on May 24, 2023. However, this has been revealed after the CCTV footage of the incident went viral. The police are interrogating the acquaintances of the accused.

According to media reports, the incident is from The Housing Board Colony in Bhilai. Feroz Khan and his family members have been living in two-three houses here for the last three years. A young man named Hasan Khan came from Delhi to sell clothes. He raped the cow after 12 o'clock in the night on May 24. His dirty act was recorded in the CCTV camera. When locals saw Hasan Khan doing all this in the CCTV footage, they informed the BJP leaders about it on Monday (29 May 2023). After this, people of BJP, BJYM and Bajrang Dal gathered and surrounded Jamul police station and demanded the arrest of the accused and strict action.

"We have received information that on May 24, a man raped a cow. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera. We have submitted a memorandum in this regard at Jamul police station. After this, all our gausevak brothers and Hindu brothers along with the police and administration gathered and reached the place where the accused lived. But, the owner of the house said that we do not know him (the accused). Later, he told us that he works as a ferry here."

Deepak Yadav said, 'We want strict action against such accused. They should not be spared at all. Otherwise, the entire Hindu society and Bajrang Dal will launch a fierce agitation. Speaking to the media, a woman said that this is the third such incident in the Housing Board Colony, when the cow was molested. However, after 2 hours of interrogation every time, the police released the accused. Others present there say that this is done deliberately.'

In July 2022, a similar case came to light from Raipur in Chhattisgarh. A man named Shahare Alam was accused of raping a cow. The accused was raping the cow by tying her four legs in a room. During this time, people caught Shahare Alam and handed him over to the police.
