The former CM and JDS leader said that PM Modi arrived in Bengaluru on September 6 to send a message to the people of the country that he was behind the launch of Chandrayaan, while the project was the result of the UPA government and scientists during 2008-2009. . Kumaraswamy said, "Poor scientists worked hard for 10 to 12 years.

Cabinet approval for 'Chandrayaan-2' was given in 2008-09 and the fund was released this year. Kumaraswamy said that PM Modi came here to get publicity, as if the launch of 'Chandrayaan-2' was due to him only. According to the plan, a 'soft landing' on the lunar surface could not happen due to the Vikram 'lander losing contact with the station on Earth.
