Patna: Police in Bihar's Purnia district have arrested a man named Shamshad in connection with the kidnap case of a minor girl. It is being told that he has been revealed to have 12 wives during the investigation. The police had been on the lookout for Shamshad alias Manowar for six years. Shamshad was marrying a new girl every time he described himself as a virgin. It is being told that the accused was preparing to perform the 13th marriage, but before that he was caught.
According to media reports, the accused, Shamshad, is a resident of Village Anarkali in Thana Kochadhaman area of Purnia district. On December 8, 2015, a man from Bijwar village under Angarh police station had lodged an FIR against him for his minor daughter's kidnap. The police had then recovered the girl within a week, but Shamshad escaped. The recovery was made from LRP Chowk in Kishanganj district of Bihar. Since then, Shamshad was absconding. However, the police were still on the lookout for him. According to police officer Suman Saurabh, the investigation officer of the case, they received information that the accused was in village Koidangi, which is located in Thana Bahadurganj. He was arrested on this information. During the interrogation, Shamshad confessed to his marriage of a dozen.
The special thing was that all the girls who married Shamshad were not aware of him being already married. Police have so far contacted seven wives of Shamshad and collected the information. All of them believed that Shamshad had trapped them in a love trap and lied to them. He wanted to marry Shamshad with the minor girl whose case was registered against him for kidnapping.
