Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court is now likely to deliver its verdict soon on the matter of whether to wear hijab in school colleges or not. A larger bench of the Karnataka High Court hearing the case has reserved its verdict on the matter after the arguments were over. Earlier, in the hijab controversy, the Karnataka High Court had asked the state government to provide complete information about the role of the Campus Front of India (CFI).
The high court had passed the order after senior advocate SS Naganand, appearing for the government college, said the hijab case was initiated by some girl students belonging to the CFI. Following this, the Advocate General has said that all the information about the CFI is enclosed in the envelope and will be handed over to the court soon.
After seeking permission from the college principal to come to the class wearing a hijab, six girls had arrived at a news conference of the CFI, which was held in Udupi. The counsel appearing for the principal of the college said that the girls were wearing a hijab on the college campus, but went to the class and took off the hijab.
