New Delhi: Russia's continued attacks on Ukraine have plunged the internal situation in Kyiv. Along with local citizens, the lives of Indians are also in danger in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the news is coming out that the Indian government is going to start evacuation flights for Indians stranded in Ukraine. The special thing is that the government itself will bear the cost of returning people.

Sources said on Friday that after the Russian invasion, Ukraine closed its air space on Thursday. After which the Air India flight had to return from the middle. The External Affairs Ministry had said that the government is brainstorming on ways to bring back Indians through Ukraine's neighbouring countries. Sources said it is not yet known what will be the time frame for the flights scheduled to evacuate Indians. At present, around 15,000 Indian students are stranded in different parts of Ukraine.

According to the Indian Embassy in Ukraine, as tensions were rising and the threat of a Russian attack became more and more real, the embassy circulated an online form. Under which all the Indians present in Ukraine were asked to register themselves. At the same time, many states are also writing to the central government with details of Indians stranded in Ukraine and requesting the government to take swift action for their safe evacuation.
