New Delhi:  In view of the situation arising out of the corona epidemic in Delhi, the capital of the country, a hearing will now be held through video conferencing in all district courts including Delhi High Court. Regarding this, directions have been issued by the Registrar General of Delhi High Court, Manoj Jain. After the arrival of more than 26 thousand corona cases in Delhi in one day, this order has been issued by the Registrar General on Friday.

The high court administration order said that at present, from April 26, all courts will hear only necessary or urgent cases and that too through video conferencing. This arrangement is currently in place till May 15. The hearing of listed cases already imposed between April 26 and May 15 has also been postponed from July 9 to July 31. On April 19, the High Court issued an order that they would now hear only the most important cases through video conferencing.

In view of the second wave of corona, however, the High Court had issued an order on April 8 that cases would now be heard through video conferencing by April 23. The order was also applicable to all lower courts in Delhi. The high court and the lower court had ordered a video conferencing hearing from March 25 after the lockdown was declared across the country last year. However, then in the month of September, some benches were made to sit for hearing in physical mode. The court had also started a hybrid hearing. But when cases in Delhi started decreasing daily and corona cases fell below 100 in March, then from March 15, all benches of the High Court were allowed to hear physically.
