Patna: The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in Bihar. Amidst the heat wave, there are 7 districts of the state where the mercury has crossed 40 degrees on Monday. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), all these 7 cities are not expected to get relief from the heat even on today (Tuesday), April 5 and the situation will remain the same with the rising temperature. Heat wave conditions persist in many cities of Bihar.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), heat wave conditions are formed in any area when the mercury remains above 40 degrees for 2 consecutive days or the temperature reaches 4.5 degrees above normal for 2 consecutive days. The cities which recorded temperatures above 40 degrees on Monday include Patna, Gaya, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Banka and Buxar. According to IMD, 13 cities of Bihar recorded more than 40 degrees Celsius on Monday, while heat wave conditions persisted in 7 districts. State capital Patna recorded a temperature of 41 degrees on Monday, which is about 5 degrees above normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the heat will increase further in the next 2 to 4 days and the temperature will go up by 2 to 4 degrees. However, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain may occur in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Araria, Supaul and Kishanganj on Tuesday.
