Bengaluru: Despite the fact that Bengaluru awoke to a bright and sunny morning on Monday, rain is expected to fall on the city until Tuesday. Rainfall is also expected in the coastal Karnataka districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi, according to the India Meteorological Department. In Bengaluru, cloudy weather is expected throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall is expected to continue across coastal Karnataka and the Malnad districts of Shivamogga, Chikmagalur, Hassan, and most of south Karnataka. The water level in the Suvarnavathi water reservoir in Chamarajanagar district has reached its maximum level after 11 years due to the continuous rain. Two crest gates of the reservoir are releasing 900 cusecs of water.
Meanwhile, four people have died and more than 15 houses have collapsed throughout the state as a result of severe rains that have been falling in more than 14 districts since last week. Rains are pelting the districts of Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Chitradurga, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, causing chaos.
On Sunday, a wall of a neighbouring house collapsed due to rainfall in Hochi Boranahatti hamlet of Chitradurga district, killing four people, including a pregnant mother.
