LUCKNOW:  Storm, lightening and heavy rain caused 12 deaths in Uttar Pradesh, an official said today, 12 people killed due to heavy rain and lightening storm in different area in Kanpur’s Bilhaur part.

One person was killed in Mau district when a wall caved in on him. And other in Varanasi's Shivpur area, a man was when a tree uprooted due to the storm and fell on him.

A woman was killed in Ramgaon, and two children were killed in Hasandeeh village in Azamgarh when the school gate collapsed late Sunday.

and rest of four people died in separate storm related incidents in Farukkhaba.

An official at the regional Met office said, the rains are likely to continue in some parts of the state for the next 48-hours.
