Heavy rain lashed out at Manipur, 3 lives dead and 10 students injured

Imphal: On Monday morning, an official said Heavy rain lashed parts of Manipur claiming lives of three women and injuring 10 school students. Here it is to be noted that in Churanchandpur district, two women, aged 74 and 50, died after their houses collapsed during thunderstorm. Another woman vendor was killed in Kakching district, when a tree fell on her shop, the official said. At two different areas in Bishnupur district, at least ten children sustained injuries when they were on their way to school in the rain.

Here it is to be noted that several houses and market sheds were also damaged in the downpour across the state. Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer PK Singh said he has apprised the Election Commission of the situation, seeking "immediate relief measures" for those affected in the thunderstorm and subsequent rain. Delhi and Adjoining Areas are Likely to Get Dust Storm, Thunderstorm Tomorrow. With the model code of conduct in place, Singh, however, cautioned the political parties against involvement in the relief work. All measures will be taken up through official machinery, he added.

Earlier in april it was predicted that the Delhi and adjoining Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad are expected to witness dust storm and thunderstorm, private weather forecasting agency Skymet informed. Another spell of dust storm and thundershowers are likely to occur around April 16 in the region. This spell will be much more intense than the previous ones.
