Heavy rain disrupts life in Maharashtra, Mumbai-Goa Highway closed

Mumbai: Normal life has been disrupted due to heavy rains in Maharashtra. Traffic on Mumbai-Goa Highway has been completely paralyzed. The Jagbudi River is flowing above the danger mark. The water has reached eight meters above the danger mark. The movement of vehicles has been stopped from the bridge over the Jagbudi river. Traffic has been closed since 2 p.m. Long queues of vehicles can be seen on both sides.

Meteorologist RK Jinamani said that a total of 40 to 50 centimeters of rainfall has been recorded in 8 stations including Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa. In Gujarat, heavy rain has been recorded in Anand, Surat. So far, the highest rainfall was recorded on July 2. So far, from June to September, the average rainfall was 230 cm, but this time Maharashtra has crossed the 237 cm mark in August alone.

The Met department has issued a red alert in Maharashtra in view of the possibility of heavy rain. Heavy rain is expected in different parts of the state. Gujarat is likely to see heavy rain for the next two days. According to the information provided by the Meteorological Department, there is every possibility of heavy rains in Delhi on 6th and 7th August.
