Ahmedabad: Gujarat along with Maharashtra is also badly affected by the havoc caused by heavy rains. In Surat, Vadodara, Navsari, normal life has been disrupted due to heavy rain. The water in Navsari is all around and the situation in Vadodara has not improved so far. Rescue operations are being carried out to rescue 31 people trapped in Mendhar village of Navsari district. A team of Air Force has also been rushed there.

Air Force has deployed 2 helicopters to rescue people trapped in the flood. Some people have been rescued safely. Meanwhile, 35 people are trapped in the water in Nandkhuri village of Khadwali. Air Force has deployed Mi-17 helicopters to rescue them. According to the Met department, heavy rain is expected on Sunday in Valsad, Navsari, Dang, Tapi and Surat in south Gujarat. Many rivers are already in spate. Due to this, a large number of crocodiles have flown into the residential areas.

Recently crocodiles were spotted on the streets of Vadodara. In view of the devastation caused by the rains, NDRF has deployed 8 teams in Maharashtra and Gujarat. In Gujarat, the monsoon has been active for the past few days, with south Gujarat and North Gujarat also getting heavy rainfall. The Met department has warned of heavy rain in the state for the next two days.
