Mumbai: In Mumbai, the country's economic capital, torrential rains have once again made life miserable for the people. In many areas, rain has created flood like situation. In Mumbai, the BMC has identified 180 locations across the city where water can be flooded. Large pumps have been installed at these places to drain water during the rainy season.

As per the official information received from the BMC, more than 235 pumps have been installed at these places to prevent water logging on the roads. Most of the locations have been identified as low-line areas in Mumbai where water is flooded during the rains. Structural audit conducted by BMC has so far revealed that 29 bridges are dangerous. Out of these 29 bridges, 8 bridges have been demolished. That's where 21 bridges are closed for traffic. According to the BMC, 65 per cent of the drains have been cleaned so far.

BMC has launched an app called Disaster Management (MCGM) with people likely to rain, traffic and other information like that high tide. In addition, the BMC has identified areas where water is flooded, and preparations have also been made to evacuate people trapped in such places, and the best-owned private vehicles will also be used to take people.
