Srinagar: Due to heavy snowfall in the low-lying areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the troubles of local people have increased. On the other hand, snowfall has brought smiles on the faces of tourists. On Monday, tourists enjoyed tremendous snowfall at Patnitop in Udhampur district of Jammu. Talk about the upper regions of Kashmir, on Saturday, 'Chillay Kalan' has started in Kashmir. It lasts for 40 days. During this time, there is a possibility of snowfall in Kashmir and the temperature drops significantly.

This year 'Chilay Kalan' started with snowfall. On Saturday, there was heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of the valley and rain in the plains increased people's problems. A drop in temperature has also been observed. After the snowfall in Gulmarg in North Kashmir, the temperature came down to minus 9.6 degree Celsius. Srinagar recorded minus 1.4 degree Celsius.

Let us tell you that 'Chillay Kalan' will end on 31 January. Even after that, the outbreak of cold continues in Kashmir with 20-day 'Chilay Khurd' and 10-day 'Chilay Bacha'. Jammu and Kashmir National Highway is covered with snow. Traffic is disrupted and there is power failure in many areas. Due to landslides in many places, the problems of local citizens have increased. The administration says that all arrangements have been made to ensure that people do not face problems in highways and snowy areas.
