Dehradun: The snowfall on Saturday in Uttarakhand became a disaster for tourists. The situation of the jam was so severe that tourists had to distribute food items on the streets. The campaign to evacuate the tourists continued till around 3.30 pm on Saturday. At the same time, the company garden lake froze. In the snowfall in and around Mussoorie on Saturday, tourists were excited since morning, but by the evening, this enthusiasm turned into despair. There was a situation of severe jam on various connectivity routes of Mussoorie. At the same time, the administration also got breathless. In a hurry, under the leadership of Additional District Magistrate Administration Ramji Sharan Sharma and Finance and Revenue Bir Singh Budiyal sent the team to different areas.

Beyond Mussoorie, 500 tourists from Basa Ghat and its vicinity were taken to safe places like Sukholi, Burans Khanda, etc. In the presence of Executive Engineer of National Highway, snow was removed from various routes from JCB. After that, lime and salt were sprayed.

The hail started late at night, the roads became slippery. Vehicles were stopped on Dhanaulti Marg. More than 1000 officers and soldiers of administration, ITBP, police, and SDRF have been deployed in Mussoorie and its surrounding areas. So that anyone can be resumed in time. Last Saturday night 500 tourists were rescued and taken to various safe places. An alert has been issued in view of the meteorological department's warning. Many teams are still deployed on the spot. The administration is fully prepared to deal with any situation.
