Mathura: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Hema Malini from Mathura, the city of Shri Krishna, expressed hope on Sunday (December 19, 2021) that after Ayodhya and Kashi, perhaps the next grand temple will be built in Mathura. Giving the example of Kashi while interacting with the media in Indore, Hema Malini said that after the rejuvenation of Ram Janmabhoomi and Kashi, the temple in Mathura can be decorated in this grand manner.

The BJP MP further said that, 'Krishna is a symbol of love and affection. As the MP of the place where he was born, I would say that there should be a grand temple there. Whatever it is, but it can be made more beautiful. Like in Kashi, Modi ji has prepared such a beautiful corridor in front of Kashi Vishwanath temple, where you can see directly from the temple to the Ganges. Hema Malini said that a temple already exists in Mathura and it can be revamped on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor developed by Modi ji. This change was very difficult. In the last several years, no one even thought that this should be done. This shows the vision of PM Modi. The same will happen in Mathura as well.

According to Hindu beliefs, Mathura is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. For this reason, from time to time the demand for building a grand temple here arises. A few days back, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Balyan had said that while a grand temple is under construction at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, 'something big and grand' should be built in Mathura, the birthplace of Shri Krishna. Apart from this, UP cabinet minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan Singh had also said that a grand Krishna temple should be built in Mathura.
