Ranbir Kapoor’s film Shamshera had hit the theatre but the big budget film has a slow start and collected a very little amount at the box office. Ranbir is now promoting the film in Shamshera. In a recent interview Ranbir talked about his interest in directing a film the actor said, “During the lockdown, I wrote a story, which I liked very much. But I don’t have the skill to go and share that story with people and make a film with them. But yes, the direction is more on my wish list than production. Well, my wife is a producer and is a very good producer, so maybe she can produce my film.”

At the trailer launch event of Alia’s upcoming film when the actor was asked about Ranbir's wish to direct a film produced by Alia. The actress said, “We did discuss it. I actually told him that if you don’t make me produce it, I’ll be very upset! I told him if you don’t want to take me as an actor, that’s totally fine. He told me, ‘No no, I need you, you’re a tyrant.”

Darlings is a very important film in Alia’s career as it marks her directional debut, The film is being co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment. At the trailer launch event, Alia also spoke about how Shah Rukh came on board. “Shah Rukh told me, ‘I usually don’t co-produce but I will do it for you, for the memories. Don’t worry at all, bohot mazze karenge (we will have a lot of fun).” Alia and Shah Rukh Khan shares a good bond and they had also shared screen space in Dear Zindagi.

On the professional front, Ranbir’s Shamshera has recently been released and Alia is all set for the release of Darlings. While the duo is next seen in Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The fantasy epic has been five years in the making and will finally release on September 9. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy.
