After the grand release of the Liger trailer in Hyderabad Thursday morning Vijay flew to Mumbai for a promotional event where Ranveer Singh was present as a Chief Guest but the thing which grabbed the limelight was Vijay’s footwear. As Vijay chose to wear chappals at the event.  Here is Ranveer Singh's reaction to it.

Ranveer Singh, pointed out the chappals, “Bhai ka style dekho, aise lag raha hai, ye mere trailer launch pe aaya hai ya main inke trailer launch pe aaya hu (Look at the brother's style, it looks like, he has come to my trailer launch instead of me coming come to his trailer launch).'” Ranveer compared him to John Abraham who too has been spotted in chappals at events.

In the second episode of  Koffee with Karan 7 Sara Ali Khan said that she want to date Vijay Deverakonda hinting that Ranveer said to Karan Johar,"Speaking of lust, the object of lust, sir we have found out on your blockbuster talk show ki ‘the’ ki kitni demand hai North India mein (the demand for Vijay in North India).'"

Vijay in the event also talked about the division cinema in India and said “I am trying ahead to the day when it is not known as north or south, simply Indian cinema, and we’re known as Indian actors. That is the fact we should always look in direction of.”
