New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler maker, is pursuing its efforts to market higher and has several products under development.
These models, which will also include a motorcycle in the adventure sports category, will be released in the coming years.
This push to increase market share in the premium segment comes at a time when the company's mainstay mass-market segment is facing ongoing stress, while premium motorcycle buyers are still largely protected from inflationary pressures.
According to sources, Hero intends to introduce two new models in the 300cc market by the first half of FY2024. To increase profitability, the brand plans to release premium products once a year.
Probably the first motorcycle to be available is an ADV that will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS and feature an engine that is 300cc or more and liquid-cooled.
The other could be built around the "Hero Xtreme 200S", which will compete with the TVS Apache RR 310 and KTM RC 390. Both these motorcycles were recently spotted testing in Ladakh.

The company also announced during an investor call that Harley-Davidson will form a joint product platform for its super-premium bike line in India.
Hero is making a big push in the high-end motorcycle market at a time when major rivals like TVS, Bajaj, Honda and Royal Enfield are taking the lead.
TVS Apache RR 310 line, Honda CBR300R and H'ness CB350, and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Hunter 350 are just a few of their many offerings.
Hero MotoCorp has a smaller market share of 5-7 per cent in the premium motorcycle segment, with around 47,000 units sold in the first half of FY2023, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), which is also mainly Is. the lower end of the market.

Hero MotoCorp currently has a market share of 47 per cent in the total motorcycle segment. Hence, there will be a lot of pressure on the new 300cc+ motorcycle.
