Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court has dealt a major blow to the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal. In fact, the High Court has declared the Mamata government's ambitious scheme 'Duare Ration' under the National Food Security Act as illegal. Let me tell you that, a year ago, Mamata Banerjee inaugurated this scheme, whose ration was delivered at the door of ration card holders.

The Mamata government claimed that 10 crore people will get benefit from this scheme and people will not have to stand in the queue of rations for hours. The hearing in the case was completed on September 11, but the High Court had reserved the verdict. Even before the assembly elections, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had included this scheme in its manifesto. However, some ration dealers had moved the court calling it against the law.

Dealers said the scheme was against the law. Because infrastructure and facilities do not exist in the state for this scheme. It was said by the Mamata government that dealers will have to take the vehicle and park it in one place and distribute it to houses within 500 meters. At the same time, the state government will pay half the salary of the employees who will be engaged in it.
